Passive Acoustic Technician Training CoursePassive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) of marine mammals using towed hydrophone arrays is of increasing interest to academia, private research companies, the navy, and the oil and gas industry because of its effectiveness in mitigation efforts, monitoring and marine mammal research. Bio-Waves, Inc. is offering a Passive Acoustic Technician Training Course in the spring of 2012. This course combines theory with hands-on demonstrations to give participants a working knowledge of towed hydrophone array hardware, software and data management. The goal of this comprehensive workshop is to familiarize individuals with the necessary tools and teach the basic skills necessary to prepare them to work as field technicians.
